From Derrick Ross
The time has come for us all to be thinking about this years Cenotaph 2021 & putting your name down to march with the Type 21 Frigate Association.
The Royal British Legion have published details for this years event & as of NOW it will be going ahead, as planned & as Normal with the full contingent of Veterans of 10,000.This as we all know could change, we simply don’t know at this stage but we do have to plan as normal. I have therefore put in to the RBL for us to have 80 places at this years parade. If I have enough people signing up then there is a possibility that we could get more places, subject to other units not fulfilling there allocated places.
As we all know 2022 will be the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands War & we anticipate that next years parade will be heavily over subscribed. Having a large contingent this year does Not necessarily give us any advantage over 2022, but it will show that we are capable of attracting a large number of Veterans in our association.
When we did our very first march past in 2019 as an Association, it was a fantastic day. Emotional as those occasions always are, but nonetheless enjoyable, particularly the drinks & scran afterwards. I am hoping we are able to acquire the same venue as last time for drinks, I am just waiting to hear back from the Porterhouse in Covent Garden.
Please fill in & email back to me asap, Details are on the form. I apologise if you are unable to fill in using your mobile phone, I am struggling to get a mobile version out there. As it stands Guests are able to attend, but as with everything else if that alters in anyway then I will let you know.
SO COME ON LADS, SIGN UP & MARCH WITH THE 21s in 21
